Jesus Pray for His Disciples : “I pray for them (His disciples). I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given Me, for they are Yours. All I have is Yours and all You have is Mine. And glory has come to Me through them. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your name-the name You gave Me- so that they may be one as we are one.” John 17 : 9-11.
Beloved, that was Jesus prayer for us (His disciple, we are His beloved disciple right? Well I am) the night before He was crucified. Amazing right? Can you imagine? He knows that the time for His death is near but still He prayed for us instead He worried about Himself! That was not easy, we know the story, but do you realize that when He was praying the night before His crucifixion He was praying not only for Himself but also for us the disciples and for all the believers? He ask the Holy Father to protect us from the evil (11, 15), He prayed so that we can have the full measure of His Joy within us (13). So why live with all the insecurities? He Himself asked the protection for His beloved disciples. Don’t let the world conquer you with all the problems, circumstances, worries, but conquer them because we are the chosen one! Don’t let the devil condemn you, but tell him that our God, Jesus Christ was thinking of us when He was on the cross. Don’t let the devil deceive you, you’re loved, beloved, you are loved, blessings :).
“I am coming to You now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of My joy within them. My prayer is not that You take them out of the world, but that You protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.” John 17 : 13, 15
